Basketball Recap: Chapmanville Regional Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Chapmanville Regional challenged Expression Prep Academy on Tuesday. The Chapmanville Regional Tigers enjoyed a cozy 67-50 win over the Expression Prep Academy Lions. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 79-75 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Expression Prep Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rasheed Morrison, who posted 15 points and five assists. Jonah Ogbu was another key player, shooting 63% from the field en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

Chapmanville Regional is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points over those games. Expression Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.

Chapmanville Regional didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-66 defeat against Wheeling Central Catholic on the 28th. As for Expression Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-54 victory against South Charleston on the 26th.
