Baseball Recap: Orion Comes Up Short

Orion couldn't beat Illini West on Wednesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the sixth inning. Orion fell just short of Illini West by a score of 8-7. Orion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Orion's defeat dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Illini West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season.

Orion and Illini West are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Illini West, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Routt Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The Rockets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
