Volleyball Recap: Danielle Romero and Sophia Ontiveros Secure Win for Canutillo

Canutillo won the last time they faced Immanuel Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Warriors.

Canutillo was led to victory by Sophia Ontiveros and Danielle Romero. Ontiveros had 24 assists and seven digs, while Romero had nine kills and two blocks. That's the most kills Romero has posted since back in October of 2024.

Canutillo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Immanuel Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Canutillo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Burges on the 22nd. As for Immanuel Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against El Paso on the 26th.
