Stanwood barely beat Archbishop Murphy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans blew past the Wildcats 10-2 on Monday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.
Tanner Requa made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Corban Forslund was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Stanwood's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Archbishop Murphy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
