Football Recap: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. Alleghany Trojans
Surry Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to the Alleghany Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-7 win at home. With the Golden Eagles ahead 28-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surry Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tripp Mcmillen, who picked up 164 receiving yards and a touchdown. Mcmillen's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Mason Jewell was another key signal caller, throwing for 175 yards and a touchdown on only 11 passes.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Surry Central will venture away from home to face off against East Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alleghany, they will head out to challenge Grayson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alleghany will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
