Basketball Game Preview: Port Charlotte Pirates vs. Venice Indians

The Port Charlotte Pirates will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Venice Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Port Charlotte is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They were beaten by DeSoto County 68-32 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since January 4th.

Meanwhile, Venice played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Booker, falling 78-55.

Port Charlotte came up short against Venice in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 49-44. Thankfully for the Pirates, Tessa Oleary (who went 8-for-19 en route to 22 points in addition to six boards and six steals) won't be suiting up this time.
