After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orchard Farm, St. Charles was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the St. Charles West Warriors 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Warriors back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (101-97) St. Charles actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 19-25, 13-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-12.

Rosemary Kuegele paced St. Charles' offense, picking up 14 kills. Kuegele got some help from Brynn Genebacher and her 22 assists. Kuegele was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

St. Charles' victory bumped their record up to 8-13-3. As for St. Charles West, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12-1.

Looking ahead, St. Charles will host Duchesne at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Charles West, they are taking a road trip to challenge Winfield at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
