Basketball Recap: Benton Central Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington, Benton Central was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Covington Trojans 54-51. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bison as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Stein, who posted 14 points. Landon Herzog was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Benton Central's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Covington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benton Central will host Twin Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Covington, they will be playing at home against Riverton Parke at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
