Basketball Recap: South Aiken Beats Brookland-Cayce for Their Third Straight Win

South Aiken waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 41-37 win over the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-26 back in December of 2024.

South Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tekinia Dixon led the charge by putting up six points and five steals. Dixon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kharisma Harley, who posted seven points.

Brookland-Cayce lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dalacia Rouse, who put up nine points and six boards. Maci Cobb was another key player, scoring eight points.

South Aiken pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Brookland-Cayce, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Airport the next time they take the court. Brookland-Cayce will host Airport at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while South Aiken will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
