Football Recap: Valley Center Jaguars vs. San Pasqual Golden Eagles        
        
		
             Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Valley Center). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the San Pasqual Golden Eagles  on Tuesday, sneaking past  20-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Jaguars have posted  since August 26th.
 Valley Center found their leader in sophomore  Mykayla Degen, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also picked up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown. Degen also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Valley Center's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was  Jocelyn Cortez with  two.
 San Pasqual's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jenna Eades, who threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns. Eades has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  passing touchdowns the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  McKenzie Jersey, who picked up 47 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 With the  win, Valley Center broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-10. As for San Pasqual, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record  this season.
 Valley Center will square off against Ramona at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for San Pasqual, they will face off against Escondido at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
