Mattawan faced Dakota in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Mattawan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Troy Scarff, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Mattawan's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4-4. As for Dakota, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7-1 record this season.
