Baseball Recap: Chowchilla Has No Trouble Against Parlier

Chowchilla got themselves on the board against Parlier on Friday, but Parlier never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Tribe, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Dillon Watkins was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Isaak Barbosa, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Chowchilla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Chowchilla and bumps their season record up to 4-8. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 11.5 strikeouts in those games compared to only four in the others. As for Parlier, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Chowchilla will take on Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Chowchilla surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parlier, they will square off against Fresno Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
