It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Madisonville-North Hopkins ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Graves County Eagles 23-20. The Maroons' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Madisonville-North Hopkins got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Markezz Hightower out in front who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns. The Maroons also got help from Ryder Sandidge, who showed off his sure hands for 129 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Madisonville-North Hopkins proved: they limited Graves County to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. The Maroons' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.2.

Madisonville-North Hopkins' win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Graves County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
