Softball Recap: Interlachen's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Interlachen had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the North Marion Colts 18-3 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Harmonie Strauser made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Interlachen got a massive performance out of Baileigh Riddley, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Riddley also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Ashlynn Poole was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Interlachen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Interlachen picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-7. As for North Marion, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Interlachen is taking a road trip to take on Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interlachen's pitchers better be ready for this one: Buchholz has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for North Marion, they will welcome Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastside has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something North Marion will no doubt try to take advantage of.
