Baseball Recap: Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Red Lake County Central Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 12-3. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 17 in a row.

Nathan Gust was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory was the eighth in a row (dating back to last season) for Red Lake County Central, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Badger/Greenbush-Middle River will host Blackduck at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red Lake County Central, they will challenge Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
