After losing to Marlboro the last time they met, Freehold Township decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Patriots put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 10-3 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Patriots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Freehold Township pushed their record up to 3-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marlboro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Coincidentally, Freehold Township and Marlboro will both be playing Jackson Memorial the next time they take the field. The Patriots will head out to face the Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
