Soccer Recap: Polytechnic Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Polytechnic Parrots came up short against the Venus Bulldogs and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Parrots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 252nd).

Polytechnic has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season. As for Venus, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polytechnic will head out to challenge South Hills at 7:45 p.m. on January 31st. As for Venus, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Godley at 5:00 p.m. on February 4th. Venus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.
