Volleyball Recap: Southside Beats Fort Payne for Their Third Straight Win + How To Watch

Southside posted their closest victory since September 9th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Fort Payne Wildcats 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Southside took Fort Payne into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 15-11.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carley Cash, who had 24 digs and two aces. Cash has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Ally Chadwick was another key player, getting 23 assists and seven digs.

Southside's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Fort Payne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 38-13 record this season.

Southside will face off against Pell City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Payne, they will take on Valley Head at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
