Softball Recap: Governor Thomas Johnson Gets the Win

Governor Thomas Johnson's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the North Hagerstown Hubs 6-5. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Hubs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Gianna Shippey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kahlyssa Ramirez, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

Governor Thomas Johnson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for North Hagerstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
