Basketball Game Preview: Barron Golden Bears vs. Grantsburg Pirates

The Barron Golden Bears will square off against the Grantsburg Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Barron will head into Tuesday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 68-34 loss at the hands of Bloomer.

Meanwhile, Grantsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell to Siren 64-58.

Barron's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Grantsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Barron came out on top in a nail-biter against Grantsburg in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 38-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barron since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
