Volleyball Recap: Cowan Comes Up Short

Cowan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Wapahani Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Wapahani scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-19.

Savannah Hall paced Cowan's offense, picking up five kills. Hall got some help from Demi Abbott and her 13 assists. Finally, Gabby Webb kept Cowan's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Cali Parker was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last eight matches.

Cowan's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Wapahani, they pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Cowan has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Blue River Valley on the 10th. As for Wapahani, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Madison-Grant on the 16th.
