Soccer Recap: Cerritos Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oxford Academy last Wednesday, Cerritos came back down to earth. The Cerritos Dons fell just short of the Glenn Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Eagles are ranked 590th).

Cerritos' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-2-3. As for Glenn, their record now sits at 9-5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cerritos will face off against Whitney at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glenn, they will take on Pioneer at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Glenn's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
