Soccer Game Preview: Tuscola vs. Freedom

The Tuscola Mountaineers will square off against the Freedom Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuscola will be strutting in after a win while Freedom will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, everything went Tuscola's way against Franklin as Tuscola made off with a 5-1 victory. It was an even better day for Gracie Rinker as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Freedom fell victim to Hickory and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Red Tornadoes. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Red Tornadoes are ranked 24th).

The win made it two in a row for Tuscola and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two contests. As for Freedom, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4.
