Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Yellow Jackets vs. Beachside Barracudas
St. Augustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Beachside Barracudas 66-26. The game marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Beachside was led to victory by Kendall Kane and Morgan Cremen. Kane went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards, while Cremen went 7 of 16 on her way to 18 points along with seven boards and six steals. Kane's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Iskander, who posted ten points and six rebounds.
St. Augustine's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-7. As for Beachside, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
