Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Hunt's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Hunt proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 back in March.

The result came thanks to Stone Massey's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Seth Evans was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Hunt has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for C.B. Aycock, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Hunt is taking a road trip to square off against West Carteret at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for C.B. Aycock, they will be taking part in a tournament against Midway at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Golden Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
