League recap: Worth County/Northeast Nodaway tops South Holt to extend winning streak

275 (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012

Worth County/Northeast Nodaway extended the longest winning streak in 275 (8 Man) this week by beating South Holt, 52-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Mound City's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Luke Sanders has thrown for 657 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Dayne Messer has 16 catches for 380 yards. Thomas Shifflett leads the league in rushing with 679 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between North Nodaway and Craig/Fairfax. The Mustangs enters the game ranked 19th in the state, while the Hornets ranks 24th.

Rock Port led 275 (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 66 points on Nodaway-Holt.
