Preview: Chester Cyclones vs. Woodruff Wolverines
Chester is 0-3 against Woodruff since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chester Cyclones will look to defend their home court against the Woodruff Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Chester suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They suffered a rough 64-42 loss at the hands of Fairfield Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Chester has suffered against Fairfield Central since January 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, Woodruff struggled with assists on Wednesday (Clinton had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Woodruff was beaten by Clinton 52-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Woodruff has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Woodruff struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Chester bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.1 points per game. As for Woodruff, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
