Basketball Recap: Northland Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Northland Prep Academy lost against Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Northland Prep Academy Spartans were outmatched by the Valley Pirates and fell 48-12. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Pirates are ranked 120th).

Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trinity Mitchell led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Mitchell also racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Eliana Swatts, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 12 points.

Northland Prep Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.

Northland Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley, they have already played their next contest, a 55-48 loss against Round Valley on the 7th.
