Basketball Recap: Leo Lions vs. Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Homestead, Leo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-52 win over the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 67-65 victory the Cavaliers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.
Despite the loss, Fort Wayne Canterbury still got an impressive performance from Reed Hayes, who posted 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Hayes a new career-high in assists (three). Thiran Padmalingam was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points.
Leo now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
