Basketball Recap: Keys Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Keys Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Heavener Wolves. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Heavener got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Canyon Ford out in front who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaid Rodriguez, who scored nine points.

Keys' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Heavener, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Keys wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-26 victory against Haskell on the 13th. As for Heavener, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-53 loss against Okay on the 13th.
