Football Game Preview: Thompson Tommies vs. Carrington Cardinals + How To Watch

The Thompson Tommies will face off against the Carrington Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thompson's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Carrington's offense will have their work cut out for them.

While Thompson's victory against Grafton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tommies skirted past the Spoilers 14-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tommies.

Charlie Yon produced another solid performance rushing for 105 yards and two scores. He has become a key player for Thompson: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Carrington made sure to put some points up on the board against Rugby on Friday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 34-8 margin over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Thompson better focus on containing Parker Bickett and McKade Zink as the pair were huge in Carrington's win. Bickett threw for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Zink picked up 81 receiving yards and one TD.

Thompson's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Carrington, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Thompson took a serious blow against Carrington when the teams last played back in September of 2023, falling 45-15. Can the Tommies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
