After a string of eight wins, the Elite Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 76-69 to Fortune Early College. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

When it comes to explaining why Elite lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lemack Bellot. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Nah'vay Pittman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Fortune Early College's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mekhi Tanner led the charge by scoring 17 points. Tanner hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Elijah Thompson, who scored 12 points.

Elite's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Fortune Early College, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.
