After a string of eight wins, the Elite Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 76-69 to Fortune Early College. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Fortune Early College's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mekhi Tanner led the charge by scoring 17 points. Tanner hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Elijah Thompson, who scored 12 points.
Elite's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Fortune Early College, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.
Elite will head out on the road to square off against St. Helena at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in St. Helena's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches. As for Fortune Early College, they will square off against Moreau Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Moreau Catholic is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.7 points per game.
