Preview: Sacopee Valley Hawks vs. North Yarmouth Academy Panthers
Sacopee Valley is 1-9 against North Yarmouth Academy since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Sacopee Valley Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Sacopee Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three games.
Sacopee Valley pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waynflete.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dylan Capano, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Tyler Easterbrooks was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Meanwhile, North Yarmouth Academy was beaten by Old Orchard Beach 67-37 on Monday. North Yarmouth Academy has not had much luck with Old Orchard Beach recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sacopee Valley now has a losing record at 8-9. As for North Yarmouth Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Everything went Sacopee Valley's way against North Yarmouth Academy when the teams last played back in January as Sacopee Valley made off with a 43-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacopee Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
