Recap: Burwell Longhorns vs. Ainsworth Bulldogs
The Burwell Longhorns lost against the Ainsworth Bulldogs back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Burwell was outmatched by Ainsworth on the road and fell 64-37. Burwell has struggled against Ainsworth recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ainsworth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karli Kral, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Kral scored 15 or more points. Gracyn Painter was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Burwell's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ainsworth, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Burwell will be home for the holidays to greet Elba at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elba will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Burwell is ranked 131st). Ainsworth will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Minden at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
