Football Recap: Raleigh-Egypt Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Raleigh-Egypt had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 49-6 defeat at the hands of the Arlington Tigers on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

A big part of Arlington's win came down to the chemistry between Jack Tidwell and his top target Rod Lucas. Tidwell threw for 61 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes while Lucas rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raleigh-Egypt will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Craigmont at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Arlington, they will host Memphis East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
