Father McGivney Catholic played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They walked away with a 45-35 win over the Maryville Christian Lions. The victory was nothing new for the Griffins as they're now sitting on five straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Father McGivney Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Jansen, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Owen Kolesa, who went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points.

Despite the loss, Maryville Christian still got an impressive performance from Levi Gray, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Gray continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Paul, who posted four points and six boards.

Father McGivney Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Maryville Christian, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Father McGivney Catholic will host Althoff Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Althoff Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. Maryville Christian has already played their next game (against Marquette Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
