Volleyball Recap: West Johnston Starts Season with Win on the Road

West Johnston had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Clayton Comets by a score of 3-1 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

West Johnston walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 27-25, 19-25, 25-13, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Amaya Brayboy and Brenna McArtan, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Carly Eagles and her 15 assists. Reagan Sutton controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Clayton is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Corinth Holders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Johnston will be paying especially close attention to the Comets' match: after the Comets face off against the Pirates, they'll take on West Johnston again at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
