Volleyball Game Preview: Burncoat Patriots vs. Millbury Woolies

The Burncoat Patriots will square off against the Millbury Woolies at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Burncoat's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Millbury has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Burncoat proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since October 11, 2024.

Burncoat wouldn't go down easily and took South into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 17-25, 18-25, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Millbury came up short against Nipmuc Regional on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Millbury couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Nipmuc Regional a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 28-30, 25-16.

Millbury's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Burncoat, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
