The Tinora Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tinora is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Tinora earned an 8-4 win over Continental. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Zoe Billings made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.
In other batting news, Tinora let Paige Gamby and Christina Meyer run wild. Gamby went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Meyer scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That triple marked the first that Gamby hit this season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Roesti, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over Paulding. While the Patriots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Patrick Henry got a massive performance out of Kasey Nelson, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Illiana Schweibert, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Patrick Henry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Patrick Henry's record is now 7-0. As for Tinora, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tinora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Patrick Henry struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
