Volleyball Recap: Mineola's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mineola had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Tyler Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Friday.

Mahayla McMahon paced Mineola's offense, picking up nine kills. McMahon got some help from Callie Black and her 17 assists. McMahon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Mineola's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mineola will square off against Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tyler, they will head out on the road to face off against Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
