Basketball Game Preview: Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres vs. Brainerd Warriors

Last Thursday, Sartell-St. Stephen took their matchup with ease, bagging a 67-17 victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice. The contest marked the Sabres' most dominant win of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Brainerd greeted the New Year with with a 72-54 victory over Buffalo. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Bison are ranked 113th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sartell-St. Stephen pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Brainerd, their record now sits at 10-2.
