Basketball Recap: Pasquotank County Comes Up Short

Pasquotank County played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 90-65 to the First Flight Nighthawks. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Branden Smith, who went 11 for 16 en route to 26 points and four steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamari Seymore, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points.

It was another big night for Mason Dobie, who posted 37 points for First Flight. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dobie has scored at least a third of First Flight's points. Judah Carlyle was another key player, putting up ten points.

Pasquotank County's record now sits at 4-7. As for First Flight, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pasquotank County Panthers duke it out with the Great Bridge Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for First Flight, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenfield at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
