Basketball Game Preview: Clay Blue Devils vs. Englewood Rams

Clay is on a three-game streak of home losses, Englewood a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Clay Blue Devils will host the Englewood Rams at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clay is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against St. Johns Country Day on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Clay was dealt a 60-17 defeat at the hands of St. Johns Country Day. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-11.

Meanwhile, Englewood had to suffer through a 42-13 loss at the hands of Wolfson. The Rams were down 33-9 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Englewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Clay was able to grind out a solid win over Englewood in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 24-14. Will Clay repeat their success, or does Englewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
