Volleyball Game Preview: Quincy Blue Devils vs. Belleville West Maroons

The Quincy Blue Devils will square off against the Belleville West Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belleville West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Quincy, who comes in off a win.

Quincy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over East Moline United.

Quincy easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-21.

Quincy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Madelyn Hamby, who had ten assists and two aces, and Leah Knudson, who had eight digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Belleville West didn't have quite enough to beat Edwardsville on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Belleville West started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-20, 25-23.

Belleville West has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-20 record this season. As for Quincy, their win bumped their record up to 28-6.

Quincy was able to grind out a solid victory over Belleville West when the teams last played on October 4th, winning 2-0. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
