Douglas County scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Creek Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Douglas County lost, don't look at Jaden Adragna. Despite the final result, he threw for 488 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. Asher Schembri helped Adragna out on the ground, picking up 180 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 32 yards and one TD.

It was another big night for Xavier Lukes, who rushed for 303 yards while picking up 8.7 yards per carry for Pine Creek. With that strong performance, Lukes is now averaging an impressive 119.3 rushing yards per game.

Douglas County's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pine Creek, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
