Softball Recap: La Cueva Bears vs. Volcano Vista Hawks

La Cueva had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Volcano Vista Hawks onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Friday. The victory was nothing new for La Cueva as they're now sitting on 14 straight.

Not much got past Liliana Montoya, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Volcano Vista off the board. Montoya has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Madison George was excellent, going 1-for-2 with a home run. Another player making a difference was Addisen Byers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

On Volcano Vista's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaslyne Barela, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
