Basketball Recap: Leyden Takes a Loss

Leyden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hinsdale South Hornets. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 52-44.

Leyden's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Hinsdale South, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.

Leyden and Hinsdale South could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Leyden will challenge Downers Grove South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 367 places (544 vs. 177). Meanwhile, Hinsdale South (ranked 437th) will meet Crystal Lake South (ranked 50th) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
