Charleston Math & Science extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Ben Gilliard. The Charleston Math & Science Riptide enjoyed a cozy 58-44 victory over the Academic Magnet Raptors on Monday thanks in part to Gilliard, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Charleston Math & Science's points.

Another player making a difference was Haasawn Todd, who posted eight points and three steals. Todd is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Charleston Math & Science's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Academic Magnet, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charleston Math & Science will square off against Palmetto Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Charleston Math & Science's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. As for Academic Magnet, they will face off against Bishop England at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
