Rock Creek waltzed into their match on Saturday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Minneapolis Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Rock Creek who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 22-25, 25-17.

Ambree Portelli paced Rock Creek's offense, picking up 13 kills. Portelli got some help from Brynna Zoeller and her 33 assists. Aubrey McCarn controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinley Bohl, who had nine digs and three assists.

Rock Creek's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Minneapolis, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Rock Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Halstead on the 11th. As for Minneapolis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Hillsboro on the 11th.
