Basketball Game Preview: Hilltop Cadets vs. Evergreen Vikings

Hilltop is 1-8 against Evergreen since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hilltop Cadets will venture away from home to take on the Evergreen Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Hilltop will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Saturday, Hilltop didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Toledo Christian, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Eagles are ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Evergreen played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Patrick Henry and fell 76-45. The Vikings have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Hilltop pushed their record up to 14-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Evergreen, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.

Hilltop might still be hurting after the 67-44 defeat they got from Evergreen in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Hilltop avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
